A Picture-Perfect July 4th at The Hideaway at Higley Flow

The stars aligned this Independence Day, and The Hideaway at Higley Flow delivered an unforgettable July 4th celebration under crystal-clear blue skies and sunshine that lasted from sunrise to sunset.

From the moments we stepped out into the warmth of the day, the Flow was alive with the sounds of laughter, splashing water, and classic summertime fun. Families soaked in the sunshine from docks and decks, kids (and a few adventurous adults!) cannonballed into the refreshing water, and kayaks, paddleboards, and floaties dotted the surface of the river.

Throughout the day, the Hideaway was buzzing with joy—grilling, bubbles, water fun and and sharing stories around the fire pits. By evening, the smell of toasted marshmallows filled the air as we gathered for s’mores, laughter, and a slow wind-down before the night’s big show.

And what a show it was.

As the sky turned from gold to deep blue, the Flow transformed into a theater of lights. Fireworks burst above the treetops in every direction, reflecting off the calm water below. It felt as though the entire river joined together to celebrate—a true 360° display of color, sound, and community. Boats floated in quiet clusters, families waved sparklers from the shoreline, and a collective "ooh" and "ahh" rose up from across the water with every brilliant explosion.

There’s something magical about July 4th at Higley Flow, and this year captured that spirit perfectly—sunshine, swimming, s’mores, and a fireworks finale that lit up more than just the sky. It lit up hearts.
